Interviews

The life of Gladys Haismaraldid Torres Celis (@haismaral_artistaplastico) is an inspiring example of how determination, passion and talent can overcome borders and transform adversity into success. Born in San Cristóbal, Táchira, her story as a plastic artist begins at an early age. At the age of five, Gladys showed a natural talent for drawing and painting, a passion that her mother, aware of her ability, encouraged from her first steps.

The political and economic situation in Venezuela forced Gladys to make a difficult but necessary decision. In 2020, she emigrated to Spain in search of new opportunities. Arriving in an unknown country and starting from scratch was not easy, but the Venezuelan artist did not allow the obstacles to discourage her.

In Barcelona, with perseverance, she managed to find spaces in galleries, where her art was appreciated by an increasingly wider audience. Gladys' exhibitions were just the beginning: her works, full of emotion and unique style, soon crossed borders, even reaching the United States and consolidating her as one of the most promising emerging artists.

Today, Gladys celebrates an expanding career, grateful for the support she has received. Her art has found a new home outside of Venezuela and her legacy is already transcending borders.
